KARACHI: A long hour meeting was held here in Governor House Karachi in which Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) talked about the mutual relationships and governance. A communiqué issued from the Governor House says that a meeting between MQM and PPP was held in the House where both the parties discussed many matters.
The communiqué says that the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan, Senator Rehman Malik, and Information Minister Sindh Sharjeel Memon on behalf of PPP attended the meeting whereas on behalf of MQM, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Rauf Siddiqui, Kanwar Naveed and others attended the meeting.
According to the handout, both the parties in the meeting discussed about the joint framework in the elections of Senate whereas the matter of MQM’s rejoining the government was also discussed and a formula was decided in this regard.
A committee comprising 3 members from each side was formed on the directives of the leaders which would present a framework in accordance with the decided formula. The meeting decided that 7 unanimous candidates of PPP and 4 unanimous candidates of MQM would be favoured for the Senate elections.
