Meat One – Prices Are Very High

Recently I visited a branch of Meat One at Gulshan near K.D.A Market (near disco bakery). I was electrified to see the atmosphere of the meat shop.It does not look that I was present in meat shop in Pakistan. There was no dirt in the shop and the meat also looks very hygienic and fresh. I also saw that Meat One gives free delivery and anyone can order meat on 111-163-281, this service is beneficial for women. But when I see the price of the meat I was shocked as the prices were far higher than the market price.

I inquired about this from salesman, he replied that The conventional practice at most meat markets is to weigh the meat cut first and then trim away the wastages making you loose out on 100 to 200 grams of meat. But, at Meat One if you buy a kilo of meat to cook, that’s the amount that goes in your pan, no less. We remove all wastage before weighing the meat and you get exactly what they pay for: a kilogram of fresh meat, gram for gram, and bite for bite. He also added that it does not apply to whole carcass.

After listening to his argument I was somehow convinced but not fully. I hope that the prices in meat one is equal to the prices of market so that middle class can also buy from Meat one shop.

Meat One is owned by former cricketers Inzamam-ul-Haq and Saeed Anwar and some people claim that Mohammad Yousuf and Junaid Jamshed are also partners of this business venture.

    Hi,

Meat 1 prices are quite high than the market price & the vary reason is they take out the wastage before giving to cstr, in 1 Kg the wastage comes around 100 to 150 gm on buying from normal market shop.

However as per my calculation still they sale upto 20-30% extra, therefore only upper class ppls can afford it.

I never bought meat from meat1, however I am sure it must be better than others but due to roof touching price they can not capture the market and attract the more cstrs.

Let’s hope they reduce 15-20% price, so me too could avail the hygeinic meat from meat 1.

In conclusion – They need to take out expenses of their decorated & luxury franchise, employee’s salaries & etc…..

    Tks,
    Gulraiz Saleem

    Dear Friends,
Currently i ma doing marketing research on Meant One as my project for MBA at CBM.
I learnt that the excess 20 % prices are very reasonable as they are giving you more than 20 % better quality.
Apart from quality, the environment specially for women is excellent in comparison to domestic butcher shops where you can find staring faces and flying bees with walking cats and dogs near you.
    PEACE OF MIND they sell.

No doubt prices are high at Meet-One and this must need to be lowered-down keeping the affordability of middle-class (those who live and work here; not getting foreign income/aid). There must be hundreds of examples of our Sahaba Karam (R.A) to trading various goods and goods especially for the masses like Meat.

Further, allow me disagree about the weightage of Chicken prices vs Market Prices; both offer similar kind of weightage systems i.e. after cleaning spares; they do weight and calculate prices of actual meat.

    Jazakallah
