Admissions for the medical students in the Shalamar Medical and Dental College have started. Students with their F.Sc, A-Levels or any other equivalent qualification can apply for the admissions, provided that they have at least 60% marks as ascertained by the Inter-Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC). Local students will have to appear in an entrance test, while overseas applicants must either appear in the entrance tests or have SAT-II with at least 550 score in each of the three subjects. The student must have a SAT score for Biology and Chemistry.
The Shalamar medical and dental college is the third project of the Businessmen Hospital Trust (BHT) Lahore after the Shalamar Hospital created in 1982 and the Shalamar Nursing College initiated in 2006. It has been recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, University of Health Sciences, Ministry of Health Pakistan, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Students have the facility to receive their clinical training in the Shalamar hospital and the Fauji foundation hospital Lahore. PMDC has recognized for its house job training. It also gives FCPS training, which has been recognized by CPSP.
The institute has a hostel facility for both male and female students. Outstanding candidates will be offered 100% scholarships, but these are available in a limited number.
