Lahore: The leader of Central Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith, activist of the Pakistan Movement and eminent Islamic Scholar Maulana Abdullah Gurdaspuri has passed away here at Boray wala at an age of 100. His funeral prayers were offered yesterday (Tuesday, 8th May) at 10am at the same place.
The deceased was an active member of the Pakistan Movement and also played an active role for the Tehreek-e-Khatme Nabuwwat and Tehreek Nizam-e-Mustafa and faced imprisonment many a times in his life.
Maulana Abdullah was very popular and well-reputed Khateeb (speaker) of Punjab. He struggled very hard with Maulana Sanaullah Amritsari to counter the growth of Qadiani Community through his speeches and face to face discussions.
Meanwhile, prominent religious scholars namely Syed Ashraf Qureshi, Molana Abdul Wakeel Nasir, Molana Abdul Azeem Hasan Zai, Molana Ahsan Salfi, Molana Nasarullah Hasan, Syed Amir Najeeb and few others have expressed grief over the death of Maulana Gurdaspuri saying that a golden chapter of the history has been closed with his death.
