Pakistani girl from Swat Malala Yousafzai who suffered attack from militants is in the running for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, as the Nobel Institute announced a record 259 nominations.
In these 259 nominations 209 are individuals and 50 organizations are included. , ex-Eastern bloc activists and former US president Bill Clinton is also in the nomination. Myanmar’s reformist President Thein Sein, Coptic Christian Maggie Gobran — dubbed Egypt’s “Mother Teresa” for her work to help the poor in Cairo’s slums — and Denis Mukwege, a pioneering doctor who founded a clinic for rape victims in the Democratic Republic of Congo are also nominees of Nobel Peace Prize.
15-year-old Mala Yousafzai was shot by militants in October 2012, she was taken to England for medical treatment and is staying there in England.
