Islamabad: PPP senior leader Makhdoom Shahabuddin may become next prime minister of Pakistan, sources told. PPP central executive committee of Pakistan Peoples Party was held in supervision of President Zardari and Bilawal Zardari. The core committee transferred its power to co-chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari.
There were four names considered for supreme post of Pakistan. Though names of Hina Rabbani Khar and Samina Khalid Ghurki names were also considered for Prime Minister Post, Makhdoom Shahabuddin and Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar are strong candidates.
Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar was second strong option after Makhdoom Shahabuddin. Makhdoom Shahabuddin has won National Assembly seat from Rahim Yar Khan on PPP seat. He is currently Federal Minister of Textiles.
