Lahore: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has denied arrest of any of its student on terrorism charges. According to the reports, on 13th of January 2016, leading news channels of Pakistan have on-aired a news regarding arrest of LUMS student claimed to be involved in Pathankot attack. The news channels claimed that the sources of law enforcement agencies have confirmed that they have arrested suspected terrorist named Usman Sarwar from LUMS, involved in Pathankot incident, in India.
Samaa TV and Dunya TV have broadcasted this news and also mentioned home address of LUMS student, Usman Sarwar.
After this, Director General Administration Aamir Khan has denied this news and clearly mentioned that not a single student of LUMS has been arrested. Dean of LUMS Yasir Hashmi has also ruled out this news and said that they have immediately contacted Usman Sarwar, he was present in library.

On the other end, same type of refusal statement is shared on social media page of “LUMS Students & Alumni Action Committee – LSAAC”, which states that “NO LUMS STUDENT HAS BEEN ARRESTED ON TERRORISM CHARGES”.
