Karachi: Pakistan provided a desperate win to the Aussies after they went down to tenth spot on the ICC T20 rankings as the green shirts bundled out to just 74, their lowest everTwenty20I total (previous 89 against England in 2012) in the third and final T20 of the three match series. Dismal bowling and batting performance lead the team to a humiliating 94 runs defeat which is also their worst ever defeat in a T20 international.
Uncertainty remains in contact with the team green as they plans to depart for the ICC T20 World Cup played in Sri Lanka. Their minds are now burdened with the record defeat that would definitely affect their game in the upcoming mega event. The battling order remains the top worry as it was only the second time that Pakistan has had a completed innings (ten dismissals) with no batsman reaching 20.
However, the bowling attack gives some hope to the National side with Saeed Ajmal now becoming the leading Wicket taker in Twenty20I Cricket with 60 wickets surpassing his compatriot Shahid Afridi’s tally of 58 who shares the second spot with Umar Gul.
In order to fulfill the demand of PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf of playing the final of the ICC event, the team green has to concentrate lots on its bowling department which still seems incomplete in the absence of Mohammad Asif and Amir. The management played its cards wrong as they missed out young Junaid Khan who showed satisfactory performance in the ODI Series from the T20 series as well as the forth coming World T20.
