International Cricket Council (ICC) award ceremony was held on August 15 in Colombo. Although the conspiracy of ICC against Saeed Ajmal was prominent among the Pakistani players but still five Pakistan players and the Chairman PCB participated in the event. Three players were the stars of the ceremony namely Kumar Sangakkara from Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli from India and Sunil Narine from West Indies.
Sangakkara was awarded three prizes. He won the awards of player of the year, test cricketer of the year and the peoples’ choice award. Indian Virat Kohli won the award of the One day cricketer of the year. In an interview he said that the previous year was a very learning experience for him and is delighted won the awards.
Sunil Narine from West Indies got the award of the Best Emerging Cricketer of the year. He bagged 12 wickets in 3 test matches and 28 wickets in 15 One Day internationals (ODIs).The young West Indian spinner is very confident to play a remarkable cricket for his team in the future.
