Kulsoom Nawaz Funeral prayer will be held today in Sharif Medical City, Raiwind at 5 PM. The Janaza will be led by renowned scholar & preacher Maulana Tariq Jameel.
Prominent politicians & political personalities are expected to participate in the final prayers of Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of ex prime minister, including:
- National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser
- Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjarani
- Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar
- Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khurshid Shah
It is expected that delegations from different political parties including PPP, PTI & MQM-Pakistan will also participate and offer their condolence with Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was being treated for cancer in London when her health deteriorated. She died in London at a time when her husband and ex Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was in jail on charges of corruption.
Her Namaz-e-Janaza was also offered in London’s Regent Park Mosque which was attended by Shahbaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, Chaudhry Nisar and other family and party members.

A PIA flight carrying the casket landed in Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport for which a special immigration counter was established at the Hajj Terminal to facilitate the family members carrying the body.
After her death Nawaz Sharif and her daughter Maryam Nawaz were released on parole to attend the funeral which has been extended for multiple times.
