Khurshid Shows Concerns Over Appointment Process Of NAB Chairman

Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Prof. Khurshid Ahmad, has expressed his serious concerns about the way Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bokhari has been appointed NAB Chairman.

Khurshid said that “I fail to understand the way M/s Zardari and Gilani are trying to run the affairs of this country, adding that this is an important post had been lying vacant and despite warnings from the Supreme Court and demands in the Parliament and Press, no movement to initiate consultations stipulated in the NAB Ordinance and the observations of the Supreme Court on the issue, was made.

He said that now in a manner, which can only be described as “dirty haste”, a proposal was made and the notification issued on a holiday and charge given in the dark of the midnight even without administering the formal oath.”

According to Prof. Khurshid Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bokhari has a good reputation but it is very sad that the way he has been inducted into NAB has raised questions that make the whole affair dubious, he concluded.
