Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi is a prominent Sunni Islamic scholar from Lahore who came into prominence after his stand of blasphemy laws. As no wikipedia profile is available we decided to write a detailed biography of Khadim Hussain Rizvi.
Khadim Hussain Rizvi gave Friday sermons at Pir Makki Masjid which is situated near Daata Darbar Lahore which comes under Aukaf department. After Salman Taseer was killed by Mumtaz Qadri he gave sermons and supported Mumtaz Qadri for his stand on blasphemy law.
This resulted in his termination as an official khateeb and later he was put under house arrest for his protests and rallies in support of Mumtaz Qadri. He was also arrested despite the fact that he is paralyzed.
Currently he is gives regular sermons in Masjid Rehmatul Lil Alameen which is located near Grand Battery Stop, Multan Road in the provincial capital Lahore.
They started a campaign ‘Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah’ which spread all over Pakistan within a small period of time which held successful protest and rallies on the issue of Blasphemy in all major cities of Pakistan such as Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Multan.
His party under the name of ‘Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan’ became a prominent political force in many cities of Pakistan. They also took contested in two election first in NA-120 Lahore and then in NA-04 Peshawar.
They succeeded in attracting a large number of voters despite being new in the electoral process. They secured 7,100 and 9,400 votes respectively in Lahore & Peshawar.
But he also saw opposition from other religious and political figures because of his protest and blocking of important roads in Islamabad during protest. But despite these opposition numbers of his followers are growing by each passing day.
