On the orders of Supreme Court wedding Lawns, Shadi halls & other encroachments are being demolished in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Sports Complex, which is located on Kashmir Road.
The anti-encroachment operation was carried under the inspection of Mayor Waseem Akhtar.

During the operation 5 marriage lawns & mixture plants were demolished in KMC Sports Complex and China Ground. KDA Banquet & Hall which are located nearby were not demolished.
[junkie-alert style=”green”] While speaking with media Waseem Akhtar requested land grabbers to stop encroachments in the provincial capital of Sindh. He said that from the past 20 years sports complex was used by mafia for commercial purposes, but no more. [/junkie-alert]
He further said that city government will not only renovate & maintain the KMC Sports Complex but will add more facilities for emerging sportsmen, youngsters and students.
Supreme Court gave the order of demolishing these illegal marriage lawns during hearing of petition filed by ex-mayor of Karachi Naimatullah Khan.
In Karachi numerous public parks, playgrounds and graveyards are occupied for political and commercial purposes.
