Prof. Hafiz Saeed, the leader of Jamat ud Dawah has said that the solution to Kashmir issue should be in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people. Addressing a press conference in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, Prof. Hafiz Saeed highlighted the significance of Kashmir as the foundation of Indo-Pak relations. If India does not understand the language of peaceful negotiations or abide by UN Resolutions, then an armed struggle remains the final solution. He encouraged PM Nawaz Sharif to speak up for the self-determination of Kashmiris and not to lose the trust of Kashmiris on account of pleasing India.
Yahya Mujahid, JuD’s spokesperson, Abdul Aziz Alvi, head of JuD Azad Kashmir, and Muhammad Sajjad, head of JuD Mirpur were also present in the conference. Prof. Hafiz Saeed said that Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and India are being governed by an anti-Pakistan lobby, as approved and supervised by USA. The USA is desperately trying to take revenge from Pakistan by establishing Indian presence on its western and eastern borders.
Previous government of Musharraf made a blunder by taking U-turn on Kashmir policy. PM Nawaz’s visit to India was hurtful to the Kashmiris most. Prof. Hafiz Saeed further said that dialogue and trade between India and Pakistan should be encouraged only after Kashmir issue is resolved. The Kashmiris should be given freedom of choice and their right to independence.
PM Nawaz Sharif had ought to raise voice for the lost rights of Indian and Kashmiri Muslims in his visit to India. Moreover, he should have raised the issue of Indian sponsored terrorism in Baluchistan and other areas of Pakistan.
On an answer to a question, Prof. Hafiz Saeed said that the solution to Kashmir should be according to UN resolution and will of the Kashmiri nation. Line of Control is an illegal demarcation by India, and a violation of international law.
