Karachi: Pakistan’s biggest city, Karachi has been ranked as the world’s cheapest city in the world while Japan’s capital Tokyo has got back the title of the globe’s most expensive city for expatriates, according to a survey by the Mercer group.
According to the study published on Tuesday, the living costs in Japanese capital is around three times expensive than in Pakistan’s metropolitan.
The report compared the cost of over 200 items in 214 cities with New York as a reference which comprises of different items in the list including housing, food and transport.
French Capital Paris slipped 10 spots to 37th, Romefell eight to 42nd, and Athens stumbled 24 to 77th. London dropped from 18th in the table last year down to 25th place.
It is to mention here that Karachi had also been ranked the cheapest city earlier in February, according to a report published in the Wall Street Journal.
