Karachi Food Street will open in Saddar Area within few months, it is expected that the opening will be made in June 2018.
The construction of the food street is underway on Mir Karam Ali Khan Talpur Road, which is being converted by Sindh Government into a night food street.
This food street is part of the ongoing project ‘Revival of Surrounding of the Empress Market and Its Adjoining Areas’.
Under this project the Bohri bazaar, officially known as Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan Road will also be refurnished and converted into a night bazaar.

Entrance of vehicles will be closed making it a pedestrianised street to maintain the attractiveness and beauty of the food street. This will become the fourth big food street in Karachi, the other food streets are:
- Burns Road Food Street
- Boat Basin Food Street
- Hussainabad Food Street
- Port Grand
The project was launched by previous governor Ishratul Ebad. According to the plan the traffic of Saddar would be redirected by converting three roads into pedestrian zone. Establishing Food Street and promoting entertainment and cultural activities was also part of the plan.
Existing shops on these roads will not be affected by the project, but shop keepers are complaining that closure of road is creating problem for their business activities and they fear soon they have to leave the market.
