
Now doctors from Institute for Family Medicine, Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) will be providing services to patients through phone calls. This announcement regarding telemedicine clinic was made by Professor Syed Muhammad Tariq Rafi, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of JSMU.
Tele Medicine Clinic by JSMU will be open to provide services from Monday to Saturday, daily from 10 AM in the morning till 2 PM in the evening. Any patient can access this service through landline number 021-99205185, extension 1131 & 1132.
Professional and experienced doctors will be available on phone to help people regarding multiple medical issues including:

• Allergies
• Chronic diseases
• Flu
• Cough
• Fever
• Skin problems
• Digestive problems
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Joint pains or arthritis
• Backache
• urinary problems
• High or low blood pressure
• Cholesterol
• Asthma
• Bronchitis
This decision was made after provincial government of Sind announced lockdown to prevent spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Pakistan. Numerous hospitals restricted their OPD services announcing that medical facilities will only be available for emergency situation, similar steps were taken by JSMU.
To cater those patients who have been deprived of regular OPD services this telemedicine clinic was launched. Now any patient can contact the Institute for Family Medicine and get professional advice and consultancy, but if any patient need urgent & emergency healthcare then he should visit Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU).
