Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has staged a protest demonstration against the genocide of Muslims in Burma, demanding global community to impose restrictions on Burma, due to the government backed slaughter of the community. A large number of Burma’s Arakani people, besides a large number of Karachities, belonging to all walks of life participated in the demonstration to express solidarity with their Muslims brothers in Burma, facing acute tyranny by Buddhists extremists. Protestors, carrying placards and banners chanted slogans against the silence of the Pakistani government and dual standards of the global community.
Addressing protestors, JI Karachi Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehnati has highlighted and criticized the dual standards of international powers. He raised the question that why international powers kept mum over the issue of massive violence of human rights and genocide of Muslims in Burma, when they have capability to intervene and get East Tamoor separate within few weeks.
He also questioned the organizations of human rights that why they don’t raise their voice over murders of hundreds of Muslims women, children, and man in a barbaric manner. He said that when such NGOs could brought the issue of usurpation of rights of a person under global limelight then why they were avoiding to highlight the issue of innocent peoples, who were deprived of even the right of living.
Mehnati said that Burma’s opposition leader, surfaced as leader for justice and equity, also expressed extremely partial behavior as she even refused to admit tens of Thousands of Muslims as citizens and Burma and avoid to even issue a statement in their favor in this pretext. He demanded of the Pakistani government to record a protest on governmental and diplomatic level and expel the ambassador with a status of persona non Greta.
Arakani community representatives in Karachi including Molana Zafar Azad, Tahir Arakani and Noor Hussain Arakani also expressed their views on the occasion. The shed light on the present condition of their community men in Burma and said that besides slaughtering tens of thousands of Muslims, rape and sexual assault is being used as militancy tool against Muslims. They also criticized the illogical and criminal negligence and silence of international community in general and Muslim world in particular.
