Karachi: Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) Director General Javaid Miandad is seriously considering taking part in contesting for the Chairman position of the board. He stated that soon he would announce his consideration in the matter after the court issues get resolved.
In an interview to one of the local channels, he said that he is considering taking part in the contest on the immense pressure of his friends, his well-wishers and various other supporters. However, the announcement would be made after, things gets clear about carrying out the PCB elections.
Miandad further said that he would make official announcement after meeting the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in this regard. He is reported to have said to take the PM in confidence before his candidacy in the PCB elections. According to Miandad, Nawaz Sharif himself is a lover of the game and a good cricketer himself, hence he looks forward to his guidance before.
The former captain said that he is capable enough to carry out the cricket and board matters in a better way. The 56 -aged former captain believed that the financial issues faced by the PCB can easily be resolved through proper management. The director general said he wishes to do good to the PCB members and Pakistani team.
