The Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has expressed the hope that the APC being convened by the Prime Minister on Thursday would be result oriented and its decisions would be implemented in a befitting manner.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that the whole nation stood united in the face of the US threats. However, if the APC tomorrow also proved to be a futile exercise, and its decisions were not put into action, the nation would be disappointed and the atmosphere of unity and cohesion created at the moment would also be affected.
He said if the government once again yielded to the US pressure, the confidence of the political parties as also the masses in the rulers would be shaken. He believed that the APC would come up with a fool proof mechanism for steering the country out of the present crisis, adopt a clear stance against the foreign aggression and give a concrete line of action to face the same.
