Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has made it clear that the party will take part in by-polls on NA-246 seat of National Assembly, adding that if the transparent elections were held in the year-2013, then the real mandate of the Karachiites was come out. He expressed these views while talking to media after filing the nomination papers here on Friday.
Speaking the media, Hafiz Naeem said that the real mandate of the people of Karachi was being stolen on gun point in the Elections-2013, adding that the JI wants to play its active role in the progress and development of the city.
He further said that the JI was always raises its voice against the terrorists’ activities continued in the city and will eliminate targeted killings, extortion and other heinous crime after coming into rule.
Hafiz Naeem said that the people of Karachi had witnessed record developments in the reign of Naimatullah Khan and Abdul Sattar Afghani, who served as city Nazims.
“Holding of transparent elections on the seat of NA-246 is a core responsibility of present government and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), as this by-poll has significant importance”, he added.
On the occasion, he demanded of the authorities concerned to ensure transparent by-polls on the NA-246, as the terrorists’ elements would try to hostage the electoral process same as they did in the Elections-2013.
It is pertinent to mention here that the JI Naib Ameer Pakistan Rashid Naseem and JI District Central Ameer Munim Zafar Khan have also filed nomination papers on the seat of NA-246, while the party leadership will decide to field which candidate to contest by-polls on NA-246.
