Marriage is not only an integral part of our life but it is also a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh). But how should we perform the marriage ceremony in an islamic?
Dr. Israr explains that our wedding ceremonies should be based on the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the way his companions did their weddings. In this aspect he outlines few things which must be done:
1) Nikah ceremony should be held in mosque rather than in home or banquets.
2) Valima from the groom and no such event from bride because it burdens the family of the bride.
3) Jahaiz or Dowry should be discouraged because it’s Hindu culture which burdens the family of bride.
Dr. Israr emphasizes that if we follow the Islamic way of marriage then this will ease the burden of bride and will enable many girls to get married.
