Beijing: Chinese high official has alleged an Islamic group to back the deadly attack that occurred following week in Tiananmen Square. A video posted on new media, reports Meng Jianzhu calling East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) behind the attack, when he was asked questions pertaining to the incident. He spoke of these words while he was on a visit to Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
Police sources state killings of two tourists while injuries to dozen of people. It all took place in the beautiful place of China, where a fatal incident of the car crash on Monday had caused the losses. The car that underwent the attack had the number plate from Xinjiang area of China where concentrated Chinese Muslim Uighar people reside. Victims are also reported to hail from the particular region.
It is pertinent here to mention that ETIM are the freedom fighters in Xinjiang. Hua Chunying, the foreign ministry spokeswomen, at a press conference briefing called ETIM as threat to China’s security and termed them to win the support of other terrorist bodies for violating peace in several parts of the State.
ETIM has been termed as terrorist organization in year 2002, after the 9/11 attack by the U.S. and United Nations pertaining to the good friendly terms between the two countries, United States and China.
Chinese government has also doubted the ETIM to have ties with Pakistan. To what they see as transgressing terrorist body, the officials call China among the hit list of the increasing violence countries.
