He was asked that the ex prime minister Nawaz Sharif initiated the plan of outsourcing the management, administration & operation of these airports on which Mehtab Khan responded that no international company is interested to manage these airports.
‘We have sought & requested international tenders on multiple occasions but no reputable organization responded’ he added.
He further explained that this was due to General Musharraf who removed an international company from the consultation of Islamabad International Airport, now no one trusts us.
When we contacted them again they responded that ‘Pakistan is not a country where our company can take the responsibility of international airport”
The inauguration of Islamabad International Airport will be done by PM on 20th April 2018. Mehtab khan said that the date may change because of busy schedule of Prime Minister.
