Organic food is better for the body. The carbon footprint is not part of the equation to good health and good body. Carbon footprint is a scheme to take people away from their money via a fake insecurity called CO2 maintenance or control. Some of these Carbon footprint can’t even control the sources of where, when, how it come from whether vehicle or animal.
I think the carbon footprint is pretty high per food unit, as well as for ‘local foods’. I don’t think pesticide use and GMO foods are evil, but I will frequently cough up the extra cash for organic. I have concerns about soil preservation and mono-culture farming. I’ve also started trending toward pastured and grass fed animals which typically must be bought from a local source. But our methods of farming have helped feed the country and the whole world. And our life expectancy is pretty good, so we must be doing something right.
