Imran Khan, chairman of Tehreek e Insaaf Pakistan, is idealized by youth these days. We see that youngsters are becoming fanatic about Imran Khan. Majority of youth believe that Imran Khan will change the future of Pakistan. Some claim that he is the last hope for our country. When asked “Why?” one gets responses like “Imran Khan is not corrupt”, “Imran Khan founded Shaukat Khanum”, “Imran Khan will bring justice” etc.
There are three main reasons behind these responses. First of all youth are emotionally attached to Imran Khan not only because Pakistan won last world cup under his caption ship but also he formed Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Research Hospital. Secondly, youth has experienced the results of dictatorship and democratic regimes starting from Pakistan Peoples Party to Muslim League, and is now desperate to see a new face. And the only new person they can trust is Imran Khan. And top of all youth is inspired by his claims of providing justice and equality to everyone.
But the questions that remains unanswered are that how will Imran Khan bring justice? What is his agenda? Under which system will Imran Khan rule? If its democracy, then will the industrialists enjoying in parliament ever allow him to take any step that benefits the masses at the expense of their personal benefits? If justice is for all then will senators be accounted for their foreign accounts and fake degrees? Definitely not! The problem is that in current system law making resides in hands of few people, who make laws merely for their personal gains. This system allows corruption. Imran Khan can’t do any good in current system even if he wants to.
It’s the time when we must realize that we can’t rely on democracy anymore. Pakistan now needs a new alternative. The only alternative available to us is the Islamic caliphate system based on Quran and Sunnah, because the current democratic system is merely a failure.
