Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Rs. 10 million aid for popular Pakistani welfare organization, Edhi Foundation. During his meeting with Geeta, Indian PM Narendra Modi welcomed her in India and said that she has now returned back to her own home, which is a good gesture. Modi also appreciated the efforts of Edhi Foundation for sending Geeta to her home and thanked them for taking care of her for many years. He said that Edhi Family is an ambassador of peace and love and announced Rs. 10 million aid for Edhi Foundation.
“It is truly wonderful to have you back home. Was truly a delight to spend time with you today”, Modi tweeted after meeting with Geeta.
What the Edhi family has done is too priceless to be measured but I am happy to announce a contribution of Rs. 1 crore to their foundation.

According to the reports of Indian media, Narendra Modi also thanked Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif for his help to send her home. He also said that the efforts made by Edhi Foundation to take care of Geeta with love and affection for many years and sending back to her home is priceless.
On the other end, some Pakistanis have appreciated this announcement of Indian PM, to give aid for Edhi Foundation. Many Pakistani’s have also criticized this announcement and said that Modi should first change his aggressive policies against Pakistan.
It is to be noted that Edhi Foundation has not issued its statement on this announcement yet.
Update: Edhi Foundation has turned down the donation worth INR10 million announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Edhi Spokesman said that foundation policy doesn’t allows in taking donation from Government there they are not accepting this donation.
