Mumbai: Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khan passes away at an age of 69 at his hometown in Bandra House after long illness, India Television reported today. The deceased has left behind wife Dimple Kapadia and two daughters Twinkle and Rinke.
Khanna was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital just last week after low blood pressure reports but was discharged on Tuesday and re-shifted to his Mumbai residence.
During his lifetime, he appeared in more than 180 films, of them 163 are feature films and 17 short films. He was awarded lifetime achievement award in 2005 due to his remarkable services to the India Film industry.
He won three Filmfare Award for Best Actor and was nominated for the same fourteen times. He also remained member parliament from 1992 to 1996 on the ticket of Congress.
