NEW DELHI: Indian Army land mafia has soled 200 acre land of worth Rs 15 billion to private parties in Srinagar cantonment, while Indian Defence Ministry appoint CBI for investigation after the disclosure.
According to a report of Indian newspaper, the Defence State Officer Srinagar circle was suspended for this scam.
According to details, the Indian Defence Ministry was investigating into and found that in the Badami Bagh Cantonment area 200 acre land of 15 Core headquarter was sold surprisingly.
It also has been disclosed in the investigation report that “NOC” were issued and pave the way to sell the land to different parties.
The head quarter of 15 Corps is located in the Badami Bagh cantonment and it is the responsibility of 15 corps to defend a 300 km long Line of Control (LOC).
The defence ministry got land for the establishment of cantonment in 1960 and the defence ministry started investigation after receiving the information of selling of land.
The defence ministry in its investigation made it clear that they have find 70 illegal NOC’s of land sale, which were prepared by using illegal means.
According to sources, mostly of the land is located in the vicinity of air headquarter at Badami Bagh, while the other land is also property of cantonment which is illegally sold to private parties; meanwhile the Indian defence ministry has handed over this case to CBI for further investigation.
