Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issues non-bailable arrest warrants against PTI Chairman Imran Khan. The arrests warrants were released because of contempt of court case after failing to appear infront of ECP repeatedly without any written statement.
As per the warrant Imran Khan should be arrested and brought infront of ECP on next hearing, but there are no changes that the political leader will be arrested. PTI Spokesperson has declared that they will be challenging the arrests warrants in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
On September 14th bailable arrest warrants were later suspended by the IHC, PTI leadership is hoping that same thing will happened for the current arrest warrants.
The case is of contempt after Imran Khan criticized the ECP of being biased against foreign funding case. Later an apology was submitted by his counsel but in a TV interview Imran Khan said that it was submitted by his counsel in personal capacity.
