Pakistan’s discarded left-handed opening batsman Imran Farhat scored second triple century of his first class career. Imran scored 300 not out for Habib Bank Limited (HBL) against Pakistan Television (PTV) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The 31-year-old Imran who has widely been criticized for giving lot of chances at International Level equaled the record of Pakistan’s batting legend Hanif Mohammad of scoring two triple centuries Imran played his last Test match in February 2013 against South Africa where he scored 30 and 43 at Centurion.
[junkie-alert style=”white”] Imran Farhat scored 308 against Peshawar while representing Lahore Ravi at the LCCA Ground in Lahore in 2012-13 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy [/junkie-alert] Little Master Hanif Mohammad made a then world record 499 (for Karachi against Bahawalpur at the KPI Ground in 1958-59). He scored his first triple century (337 runs) against West Indies at Bridgetown, Barbados to secure a draw for Pakistan.
A cricket fan on Facebook while commenting on Imran Farhat second triple century said that it is true that Imran Farhat has not performed consistently at international level but after scoring second triple century he has done what legends like Inzamam-ul-Haq, Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Mohammad Yousuf have not done. Therefore he must be appreciated for this and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) must also announce reward for Imran.
