Hyderabad: The Inspector General of Jails Sindh, Nusrat Hussain Manghan has said the prisons of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkhur contain extremely dangerous criminals and there are warnings of attacks on these jails by terrorist organizations. He said this while speaking to the media in Hyderabad.
The IG Sindh Nusrat Hussain Manghan stated that these warnings were based on the intel provided by the government and intelligence agencies. He stated that in addition to jails in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur, other jails all over Sindh faced the threat of attacks by terrorists.
In order to deal with this threat, the police and rangers officers deployed outside these jails had been put on high alert and additional FC officials and jail guards had been deployed inside the jails. Other security measures have also been initiated which include installation of jammers. Karachi jail has already been equipped with 7 jammers while the other jails are in the process of receiving these upgrades.
The IG Sindh also explained that the Karachi Central Jail was the most sensitive and had received the most security measures which include installation of 150 secret surveillance cameras and the construction of an outer bomb proof wall around the jail which is under progress.
