ISLAMABAD: The former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhadry has filed a claim of 20 billion rupees against the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan for defamation. According to details, Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhadry, who was the Ex-Chief Justice of Pakistan, has filed the claim in the district court with the help of his lawyers including Raja Mudassir, Taufeeq Asif and Ahsan-ud-din.
It is pertinent to mention here that Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhadry is considered to be the first ex-Chief of Supreme Court of Pakistan who fought against a dictator, Pervaiz Musharraf. At that time, he was supported by all the Pakistanis including lawyers, politicians, religious leaders and so on. Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhadry never retreated and won the fight.
Pervaiz Musharraf had to resign from his post as dictator and the former president of Pakistan. Also, after the recent elections won by Nawaz Sharif, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan alleged that there had been a massive rigging in the elections and he blamed Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhadry for the rigging.
In his recent statement, Imran Khan alleged that Justice Iftikhar and Justice Ramday had made Nawaz Sharif win the elections. On the one hand Imran Khan was considered to be the one who could take the nation out of Pakistan’s crises, on the other hand he had started damaging himself by the politics of sit-in, allegations and telling a lie.
