ICC announces ODI team of the year which is looking Bizarre as leading ODI players in last calendar year are not in list. Some deserving players like South African Opener Hashim Amla, Wahab Riaz, Morne Morkel, Mohammad Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal were not considering for list. On other hand some player who have done less than above list are in ODI team like Sehwag and Shane Watson.
Top three wicket takers during the period [2nd Aug 2010 to 11th August 2011] were Lasith Malinga (39 wickets), Munaf Patel (37 wickets) and former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi (37 Wickets). All of them are not in ICC ODI Team of the year; Sri Lankan fast bowler Malinga selected but as 12th man.
Same scene with top scorer batsmen, Top 3 run scorers during the period [2nd Aug 2010 to 11th August 2011] period were Hashim Amla (1091), Virat Kohli (1071), Mohammad Hafeez (1070). All of three are not selected in ICC ODI team of year. Hafeez also took 26 wickets during this period.
