CHICAGO: Pakistani Ambassador in Washington Husain Haqqani has said that there is not threat of war between Pakistan and United States. Working needed for reconciliation between US and Pakistan, adding that Pakistan is supporting dialogues for establishment of peace in Afghanistan. He said if US know the residence of Mullah Umar, then it should write a letter to Mullah Umar for dialogues on behalf of Pakistan.
Husain Haqqani while addressing the Council of Global Affairs in Chicago welcomed the statement of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regarding dialogues for peace with militants of Afghanistan, adding that establishment of peace in the Afghanistan is common goal of Pakistan and US while some interests are creating hurdles for peace process.
He said that Pakistan is also supporting the process of dialogues with militants, adding that few militants are trying to impose their ideologies with the power of guns; meanwhile he said that if US know the residence of Mullah Umar then it should write a letter to Mullah Umar for dialogues on behalf of Pakistan. He said that dialogue cannot be held with soft heart and asked that if Taliban would support a multi-party Afghanistan in future?
He said that Pakistan would try to bring all Taliban elements on the table of dialogues which are in the access of Pakistan; meanwhile he said that relations with US are made national independence and the relations on the basis trade and private profession will be corner stone’s for relation with US.
