The new 5-year Green Residence Visa will be targeted on exceptional talents, skilled professionals, freelancers, investors, and entrepreneurs. This move intends to increase job market flexibility and attract extraordinary individuals across all disciplines.
The Abu Dhabi Residents Office (ADRO) claims that the Green Visa is a category of resident visa that enables foreign individuals to sponsor themselves, dodging the requirement of job in order to remain in the United Arab Emirates. There are several high-growth areas in Abu Dhabi, which is fostering chances for gifted people to develop, flourish, and thrive there.
Who may apply for a Green Visa and how to do so are listed below:
The Abu Dhabi Green Visa provides visa holders and their families with longer residency and more advantages than the regular resident visa.
Sons up to the age of 25 and unmarried daughters of any age may be sponsored, among other advantages. The Abu Dhabi Green Visa provides a variety of visa alternatives for professionals, independent contractors, investors, and partners. It is valid for five years.
Green Cards for Independent Contractors and Other Self-Employed People
According to ADRO, independent contractors or those who work for themselves are qualified if they meet the requirements listed below:
• Should have a freelance employment authorization issued by the MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization).
• A bachelor’s degree, a specialised diploma, or an equivalent is required for entry.
• For the previous two years, the self-employment revenue per year was at least Dh360,000 or its equivalent in international currencies.
Or
• Demonstrating financial stability during the entire period of residence in the UAE.
Requirements
You must offer the following in order to apply for a Freelance VisUAE.
• A Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) freelance employment visa.evidence of Dh360,000 in yearly income for the past two years
Or
• A certification of your ability to pay your bills during your stay.

Green Cards for Skilled Labour
According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), skilled employees must be classed in the first, second, or third occupational level in order to apply for a green visa, according to ADRO.
According to the International Standard Classification of Occupations, MoHRE has nine different employment skill levels.
Additionally, the applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following professional fields: science, law, education, culture, or the social sciences, and have a valid job contract with a salary of Dh15,000 in the UAE.
Skilled workers are eligible if they satisfy the criteria specified below:
• Should have a valid employment contract, which they utilised to obtain a work visa for the UAE.
• According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, holding a position at the first, second, or third level.
• A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
• Possess a minimum monthly income of Dh15,000 or its foreign currency equivalent.
Requirements
In order to apply for the Skilled Employee category, you must submit the following:
• A valid employment agreement with MOHRE or its equivalent that specifies the position’s title and monthly compensation.
• A documented bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent.

Investor Green Cards
Investors who open businesses or engage in commercial activity in the UAE are granted the Green Investor Visa. It takes the place of the previous, 2-year-only residence permit.
Requirements
• ICP approval of the investment in accordance with the implemented investors grading system.
• Evidence of the investment (If the investor/partner holds multiple licences, the total capital invested will be determined).
• Approval from the local authorities who are qualified.
