Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the honest and competent leadership can resolve the civic issues including water, sewerage, power and others of the masses; adding that the party workers should play their due role in preparing themselves for upcoming local bodies (LB) polls. He expressed these views while addressing the party workers in District East here on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Hafiz Naeem said that the city has become a clutches of civic issues due to absence of proper local bodies system, adding that the public representatives can only resolve the issues of the masses. He informed that the Jamaat-e-Islami will announce its party candidate for local bodies’ polls after completion of delimitation process in Karachi and the party workers would initiate effective public contact campaign in this regard.
Hafiz Naeem further said that the party leadership would also invite some influential and prominent political personalities to join Jamaat-e-Islami before LB polls. He held PPP-MQM coalition, a main reason of civic issues being faced by the people of Karachi and demanded to the authorities concerned to initiate K-4 water project immediately.
On the occasion, Hafiz Naeem congratulated the party candidate who declared victorious in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) local bodies’ elections.
JI Naib Ameers Karachi Dr Osama Razi, Barjees Ahmed, Dr Wasay Shakir and Ameer JI District East Younus Barai also spoke on the occasion.
