Karachi: Government of Sindh has announced Public holiday in complete province for 12th Rabi-ul-Awaal, 25th January according to the Georgian calendar. The moon of the third month of Islamic calendar Rabi-ul-Awaal of the year 1434 Hijri was sighted on the night of 13th January 2013 and it was declared by Mufti Munib ur Rehman that 12th Rabi-ul-Awaal will fall on January 25.
Rabi-ul-Awaal is considered as a significant month for the Muslims as the last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) was born on the 12th of this month. Muslim all over the world observe this day with religious zeal and dedication. Preparations are held with the very start of the month and continue till the end. Various events of Milad and Naat are organized in different parts and are attended by large number of people.
A public holiday has been announced all over the province of Sindh and strict measures are set for the procession held throughout the month.
