Fat rich diet significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in pregnant women’s unborn child, revealed a new cancer research which was published in Breast Cancer Research.
The high fat food causes genetic chances in the body which increase the risk of breast cancer in child after birth. This was observed in pregnant mice during the research.
The author of the research paper Dr Leena Hilakivi-Clarke said “’Studies have shown that pregnant women consume more fats than non-pregnant women, and the increase takes place between the first and second trimester.
From 1.7 million cases of breast cancer which were diagnosed in 2012 more than 90% had no known reason or cause for the disease.
Mice usually get 18% of their energy from fat but during laboratory observation and research pregnant mice were given high fat die after which 40% of the energy was from fat. This resulted in genetic change in the mice increasing the risk of cancer.
