More than 240 million people are affected by hepatitis B and each year more than 686,000 people die after suffering from this disease.
Hepatitis B is cause by the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV). It spreads only through transfer of bodily fluids such as blood, saliva and semen. The most common cause of its spread is usage of unclean needles. It affects the liver which causes inflammation and kills the patient.
The early symptoms may appear after 6 months of infection it includes:
- High & low fever
- Fatigue
- Feeling weak
- Nausea & vomiting
- Yellow skin
- Dark Urine
Many of these symptoms are taken lightly by people which results in delay of diagnosis. As a result the liver condition is deteriorated when the treatment is started.
To diagnose the virus some blood tests are conducted which includes Albumin level test and Liver function test. After the diagnoses the treatment is started as per the liver condition.
