Government is planning to dissolve Higher Education Commission as they are saying that in 18th amendment it was written that Education ministry will be transferred to provinces. In experts view this step will hurt the education system badly.
Now political parties are opposing this act of government, I fail to understand the policy of these political parties. Why didn’t they raise their voice when 18th amendment was implemented?
HEC should not be finished. Education ministry should also remain with federal government. Government must improve the quality of education by finishing different exam boards (O-levels boards, Aga Khan Board, Sindh Board, Punjab Board etc) instead of finishing HEC. Almost 30 education boards are responsible for conducting exams of SSC and HSC in their jurisdiction. The first thing to be done is that there should be one education board and experts of this field must be taken on board to form a proper and up-to-date syllabus.
Many people thinks that government is dissolving HEC because there will be no authority after HEC to check the status of fake degrees.
I appeal to people from all walks of life to protest government decision and demand one education system for every one.

@ Mubasir,
HEC has totally failed to achieve its objectives and targets. I think provinces will be more effective in supporting their own unuversities and students.

We seriously oppose the Government decision to dissolve HEC which is the last resort for our higher education. Although we need quick changes in our syllabus as we should have one syllabus for class 1-12. An Islamic and Urdu language status should be recognized in the syllabus.
Is there any one who can support this cause… plz write.
Regards.

I thing the main reason govt is trying to dissolve HEC is that it has declared their degrees fake and they are seeking a revenge on it. HEC has done a great job and produced more Phds in 8 years than 56 years. if it is dissolved the standard of education will go down and it will be worse than our primary education standard. due to HEC our three universities have been included in world’s top 300 universities.
I think it is one of the few institutions which are on the right track.
I request the young students to please raise their voices to save their future.
