Islamabad: National Disaster Management Authority has confirmed the death toll to 69 due to the heavy downpour in parts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan. According to the reports, as many as 6988 houses have been destroyed and affected after heavy showers hit majority areas of Pakistan.
The reports say that Dera Ghazi Khan and Jacobabad were the most affected areas in Balochistan and Punjab respectively where rain water created havoc.
Director General Pakistan Disaster Management Authority Sher Dil informed Monday that at least nine people lost their lives in DG Khan.
Pakistan Army has been sought for help in Kandhkot area of Sindh where the forces have started rescue operation to assist civil administration.
Meanwhile, CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has declared emergency in the province, cancelling the routine vacations of government officers.
