HBL, one of the largest banks in Pakistan, is a name often associated with sports especially in their advertisement campaigns which feature well known cricket stars of the national team. Now HBL has taken an initiative to promote cricket at the grass root level with the HBL Inter School Cricket tournament which is due to start from 18 September.
The HBL Inter School Tournament is a great initiative by the bank which will help bring out talented young players from the schools of Pakistan and youth scouts at the tournament may be able to identify the next stars of the Paksitani cricket team. Cricket at the grass root level is vital for the growth of the national team and gives the opportunity for children from any background to achieve their dreams.
The HBL inter school cricket tournament is being organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association an is fully sponsored by HBL. 30 schools will be participating in the mega event with well known names such as Aga Khan Secondary School, Army Public School, Beacon House P.E.C.H.S, City School, Habib Public School, Karachi Grammar, St.Patrick’s school and many others.
Two additional teams, the HBL School Boys Greens and HBL Whites will also participate. These teams will consist of children whose schools are not participating and will be chosen after open trials scheduled to be held from 15 to 18 September at various grounds including Hill Park Ground Block 6 P.E.C.H.S, Landhi Gymkhana ground and TMC Ground Fb Area at 1.30 pm.
