Karachi: the president of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, Sadia Rashid said during a speech that freedom was a blessing like no other and once independence is gained the first and foremost priority should be to protect and cherish it. Sadia Rashid said this during the Hamdard Naunehal assembly in Karachi at a local hotel.
She said that our ancestors endured a long period living under the control of the British, and only through the wisdom and long struggle of great leaders like Quaid e Azam, Allama Iqbal and others were we able to get the independence that we enjoy today. The real value of independence is realized only when a person is deprived of it or is forced to leave his homeland and live somewhere else.
Sadia Rshid said that the children of today are the great leaders and architects of our future and our country’s respect, stability, and security depends upon them. The chief guest at the event was education expert Mehtab Akbar Rashidi who said in his speech that our leaders gained independence through patience and reasoning. They solved the problems of the country through truth, wisdom and dialogue and the problems of today needed the same approach, not protests and foul language.
He also emphasized that we should follow the examples set by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and live our lives according to is teachings. If we do that then our society would get better itself without the need for violence.
