Gulshan-e-Hadeed was established in 1990s. It has still two Phases. The plots there were allotted to the employees of Steel Mills. As time passed and population increased, Steel Mills separated both the phases. Phase 1 was fortunate area that received electricity from Steel Mills whereas Phase 2 was very unfortunate area that Steel Mills handed it over to KESC! Now the situation is completely changed! Gulshan-e-Hadeed, where there didn’t use to be load shedding, is the victim of load shedding! The employees are very worried as they cannot sleep properly because KESC has started consecutively load shedding for 6 hours! Neither people can iron their clothes for jobs nor can they fill their tanks with water! Their fridges and refrigerators are constantly switched off as low and high voltage is underway!
As Steel Mills is providing electricity to phase 1, there is no problem there but phase 2 is undergone with load shedding and other problems! Some of the last days, phase 2 is continuously being hit by load shedding a lot and the duration of the load shedding has crossed the limit! For a few days, 12 hours load shedding is being done by KESC in phase 2! Also there is a problem of low and high voltage as the wires of earth are not working properly! Sometimes they are burnt, sometimes they are broken!
One more issue is rising these days that KESC employees who were terminated from their jobs have started damaging the wires and other electrical apparatus so that people can be anxious and get together with them and resultantly, KESC authorities will restore them on their jobs! If this is the really situation, I want to tell them that we share your sorrows after you were dismissed but it doesn’t mean that you start to disturb common men intentionally! In this way, people will start hating you and you will lose all their trust on you! But, one more story is circling that KESC is itself involved in bad deeds and damaging electrical apparatus and wires so that labor union can be defamed and KESC authorities will have an opportunity not to restore them on their jobs! Today, the situation is that people are helping themselves and climbing on electric poles to join wires so that electricity should be restored!
I want to raise my voice saying that all those institutions that directly affect the nation should never be privatized and government should hold them under their custody! Please, have mercy upon us and do something for nation too!
