The Government of Pakistan has launched the Hajj Scheme for 2014 and applications for the Hajj Scheme will be accepted from Monday 21 April 2014. Millions of Pakistani people are expected to apply for the prestigious opportunity to perform Hajj this year and the applications will be entertained on a first come first serve basis.
Designated banks will be receiving applications for Hajj starting from Monday. The Hajj policy for this year has allowed 143,368 Pakistanis to perform Hajj this year and a fifty-fifty quota has been awarded to to government and private Hajj group organizers. Millions of people are expected to apply for government Hajj Scheme which is comparatively cheaper than the private Hajj.
The people who have performed Hajj in the last five years will not be eligible for Hajj this year. Exceptions will be made for those travelling as a Mehram for women or for those who are undertaking Haj-e-Badal.
The package price for the government of Pakistan Hajj Scheme 2014 has been fixed at Rs 262,231 from Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur while those travelling from Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad and Sialkot will have to pay Rs272,231.An additional amount of Rs 14,500 will be required if the applicants wish to perform qurbani through the Islamic Development Bank.
