Islamabad: Government of Pakistan is working on several projects to bring maximum IT business to Pakistan. In this regards, Minister of Information Technology Anusha Rehman has urged Google to increase its activities at local level in Pakistan and take advantage of development opportunities in the country. According to the media reports, Anusha Rehman had a meeting with a delegation of Google, headed by the vice president and managing director for South East Asia, Rajan Anandan.
In this meeting, Anusha Rehman said that Pakistan’s growing development in the IT sector, trend of 20 Crore people towards information technology and good policies of the Government are creating opportunities for the international corporations like Google to ensure their presence at local level. Google representatives have appreciated the policies and the efforts of Pakistani Government, especially in Broadband and E-Governance. They also agreed to increase Google activities in Pakistan by keeping in view the current positive situation of IT sector in Pakistan.
The delegation of Google has also ensured the Minister to increase mutual cooperation and said that the new policy of Google would be beneficial for Pakistan and will increase its business in the country.
It is to be stated that the Government of Pakistan is planning to bring top IT corporations of the world in Pakistan to boost IT sector at local level.
