Education is the vital ingredient for a successful nation and is the main reason behind a nations progress. It is an aspect that has been lacking in the province of Sindh especially concerned with girls education. The Sindh government has introduced a stipend program for girls in the province to encourage parents to send their daughters to school.
The Girls Stipend through Easy Paisa program enables girls enrolled in government schools to receive a regular stipend while pursuing their education. The stipend can be received through ATM or over the counter and also using the convenient Easy Paisa method of payment.
Through this program the Government of Sindh will provide stipend to 425000 girls of classes 6 to 10. The stipend wll be Rs 3500 in 45 Talukas while Rs 2500 for the other Talukas. This stipend will help parents more readily allow girls to attend school rather than making them do work to earn a living.
The girls stipend program is being supervised by the Reform Support Unit of the Education and Literacy department of the government of Sindh. It is hoped that this program will play a positive role in improving the literacy rate in rural Sindh and helping the province’s female population become more enabled to pursue a better life.
