A campaign about Hygiene which was launched by the student’s group of the university to create awareness about the importance of Hygiene. It was the 3-month campaign which was being run by Sagar Samy, Burhan Gulzar and Abdur Rehman, which finally has been ended. They tried their best to spread awareness about the very basic thing of human life.
The Facebook page was created with the name “Good Habit” to share all the updates of the campaign. In order to make this campaign successful and spread awareness as much as possible, they choose the backward area of Karachi namely Musharaf Colony which is at Hawks bayside.
They conducted workshops at different schools, did an interactive session with students of the university, a public service message, interviews, Radio IDs and many other activities to create awareness among kids, youth, parents and grandparents.
They covered 5 things in their campaign
- Hand wash
They created awareness about the above 5 and told safety precaution. As up to 80% of the diseases are transmitted by the touch and when a person shakes hand to someone so he/she basically shares the germs and diseases.
Through this campaign, they communicated that at the time of coughing and sneezing, a person should use elbow instead of hands. It takes seconds to wash hands in a correct way. They created consciousness about this along with other things which have been mentioned above.
After the end of the 3-month campaign, they have observed some positive change. Although the change is not that much what they expected at the beginning, but still they’re happy and satisfied to create awareness about the very basic thing. During the campaign, they also observed one thing that majority of the people don’t even know what “Hygiene” basically is.
Well, they have done their contribution and they have produced the multipliers. This means that the campaign has been ended but it will continue for the lifetime, and many positive changes will be seen in the future. You can also contribute towards society by keep spreading awareness about the Hygiene.
