General Elections of 2018 will be the most expensive elections in the history of Pakistan with a cost of Rs. 21.29 Billion. The loss to the economy due to public holiday of 25th July will also amount to Rs. 82.24 billion as per documented economy.
According to FBR estimate around 50% of economy in Pakistan is not registered which means that in total a public holiday can result in a loss of Rs. 164.48 million.

Just the cost of printing ballot papers is Rs. 2 billion because paper for it was imported to maintain high quality and transparency.
To ensure free & fair elections the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) also placed an order for 80,000 CCTV cameras. Another billion rupees was used to purchase smartphones.
